After school snacks

Recipe: Light wholewheat and honey-crust flatbread by Dan Lepard, on the Guardian website

This bread is very yummy but it only makes 4 small flatbreads which isn't enough when you have a teenage boy in the house.  Next time I'll double the recipe. I haven't seen the fast-action yeast specified in the recipe, so I used my normal active dry yeast and dissolved the yeast in the honey and water, then left it for a few minutes to start foaming before adding the flours and salt.  I didn't add the sunflower seeds as I didn't have any. The topping is onion, feta and courgettes.

My first attempt at spinning, using a drop spindle and wool gifted to me to practise with.
 The singles,

and the finished yarn.  Not really enough to do anything with except look and touch.

And now for some knitting.

A new book

I popped into Whitcoulls the other day and was looking through the sales table when I found this lovely book for $10.  I haven't sat down and read it all yet but here's a little sample of the wonderful works within.
